Dev Update: Enhancing manypuli's Playability and Visuals
Hey everyone!
Exciting updates have arrived for manypuli! I’ve streamlined the deployment process, making it easier to push updates to you all. By automating the packaging and integrating it with the butler upload script, new builds are quicker to release. While server updates are still manual, I’m taking a slower, more cautious approach here to ensure stability.
Fresh Look for the Start Screen
A lot of thought went into the new background for the start screen. I wanted something visually engaging but not overly busy, and after some trial and error, I’m thrilled with the result. The updated design provides a cohesive look while keeping the focus on the tasks.
New Task System: Unlockable Challenges
In response to player feedback, I’ve adjusted the task progression. Now, tasks unlock gradually as you progress, keeping the experience balanced and engaging. The hardest challenge is always the one at the bottom, inviting you to test your skills as you progress.
Task Adjustments and Improvements
I’ve been fine-tuning how tasks are evaluated based on player actions. For example, I noticed the homework task was linked to the wrong NPC, so I’ve corrected that to ensure the right interactions are required. I also made some tweaks to the evaluation system to prevent tasks from completing prematurely. The way the AI assesses tasks can still be a bit unpredictable, but each update brings me closer to a more consistent experience.
On Completing Tasks
Some players have been getting stuck on the first task, “The Flower.” Just a reminder: the task requires the flower to be fully delivered to you for completion. If this action doesn’t happen, the task remains incomplete—keep going until it does!
Thank you for your continued support and feedback. Your insights are helping shape manypuli into an even better experience!
Stay tuned for more updates!
